Discover the inspiring journey of Ganguria Sri Sri Sarada Tirtham and our commitment to serving communities with compassion and dedication.
Ganguria Sri Sri Sarada Tirtham is an institution for human welfare, run according to the ideas and ideals of Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda. Following the teaching of this “Holy Trio”, the institution has been working since 1998 among poor villagers who, being totally deprived of basic facilities of civilized existence such as health, education, roads, drinking water and electricity, are day by day drowning in the deep darkness of ignorance and poverty.
Its aim is to restore health, inculcate young and old alike with a sense of India’s glorious cultural and spiritual heritage, help the unemployed stand on their own feet, and assist needy students in pursuing their studies by supplying them with food and lodging.
Ganguria Sri Sri Sarada Tirtham is situated in Bamongola Block of Malda District. The area where the operation is going on is most backward, having inhabitants of tribal origin. There is no proper treatment of health, education and economic development since long back in the area, and our organisation has given importance to removing this backlog, though slowly but with persistence and steadily. The social weakness of the region is affected mostly due to very low literacy rates.
As the area is located in a far corner of North Bengal, it is cut off from the main artery of the State of West Bengal. The means of transportation and communication are very poor. The area has no proper medical facility, no drinking water facility and precisely – what not?
So in this critical time, Ganguria Sri Sri Sarada Tirtham stepped in and registered under the Societies Act of West Bengal XXVI of 1961 in the year 1999-2000. It focused responsibility and activities towards education, health, environment and structure to the most weak and vulnerable rural people, towards awareness of socio-economic development and so on.
At present, Sarada Tirtham is working in Jagdala G.P under Bamangola Block of Malda District, covering a radius of approximately 10 km on three sides. The remaining side is about 3 km due to the proximity of the Bangladesh border. The local population predominantly belongs to SC & ST communities who are very poor, downtrodden, and vulnerable.
